Department Leader, Procurement

 

AliveDx is recruiting a Department Leader to join our Procurement team based near Edinburgh. This role is responsible for leading all ALBA procurement activities, including strategic sourcing, supplier selection, and contract negotiations as well as being accountable for uninterrupted supply of material, mitigating supply chain risks, and delivering cost savings. The role is a full-time permanent position working 37.5 hours per week.

 


YOUR MISSION

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Lead supplier selection processes based on quality, cost, compliance, reliability, and risk assessments and conduct regular supplier review.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuity of supply, service excellence, and long-term value.
  • Lead or support complex negotiations and ensure contracts meet legal, regulatory, quality and operational requirements, including clauses for risk mitigation and compliance
  • Track and report on procurement performance, variances, and savings, Identifying and delivering measurable cost savings, process efficiencies, and added value, while maintaining service, quality, and compliance standards.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate procurement and supply chain risks.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing procurement team focused on delivery, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Collaborate with key internal stakeholders (e.g., Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Finance) to align procurement strategies with business needs and priorities.

 

YOUR COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • CIPS accreditation (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply)
  • Significant experience in procurement with a demonstrated track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Packages
  • Expertise in developing sourcing strategies, optimizing supplier relationships, and driving cost efficiencies.
  • Strong analytical skills to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and financial awareness.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address challenges, implement effective solutions, and minimize disruptions.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Occasional travel to partner or supplier sites may be required.
