DEPARTMENT LEADER, PROCUREMENT

 

AliveDx is looking for a Department Leader, Procurement to join our Supply Chain and Manufacturing Operations Function based in Eysins, Switzerland. This is a full-time and permanent position.

 


YOUR MISSION

 

As the Department Leader, Procurement, you will be responsible for leading the procurement function for the MosaiQ Business. This role oversees the strategic sourcing for Operations and manages all supplier-related activities to achieve quality, cost and on time delivery standards. You will lead and mentor a team of Senior Buyers and spearhead the transformation of procurement from a transactional function to a strategic partner within the organization.  Your aim will be to optimize procurement processes and strengthen supplier relationships, contributing to the overall success and efficiency of the business.

 

More precisely, your role and responsibilities will be:

  • Partner with key stakeholders to enhance quality, service, delivery and cost reduction, and innovation with strategic suppliers.
  • Build, maintain and manage strong, strategic supplier relationships.
  • Develop and execute effective negotiation strategies for contract re-negotiations and new supplier agreements.
  • Identify and mitigate supplier performance risks, regulatory compliance issues, and market fluctuations to ensure business continuity.
  • Optimize and rationalize the portfolio of indirect suppliers to improve quality, efficiency, simplicity and cost reduction.
  • Establish and implement robust Procurement processes, ensuring compliance and audit readiness.
  • Engage in new R&D product programs to ensure a strong procurement presence in supplier selection, onboarding and management
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, R&D, Quality and Finance to align procurement decisions with company objectives and operational efficiency.
  • Work with Manufacturing and Planning to ensure strategic suppliers invest in sufficient capacity to support growth.
  • Build business continuity through strategic inventory management or alternate sourcing strategies
  • Implement best-in-class strategic supplier governance, including clear communication protocols, key performance tracking, and joint objectives.
  • Manage the procurement budget to achieve cost-effective sourcing while maintaining quality and delivery timelines.
  • Develop 3-year category strategies for major spend areas and tactical plans for execution.
  • Contribute to developing and implementing a multi-year supply chain strategy
  • Lead, mentor and develop the procurement team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.

 

 

YOUR COMPETENCIES

 

  • Master’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field.
  • Over 10 years in procurement, preferably within biotechnology, pharmaceutical or medical devices industries.
  • Strong background in strategic procurement, supplier relationship management and contract negotiation.
  • Demonstrated leadership in team management and development.
  • Proven success in managing supplier relationships to achieve high quality products, cost savings and supply chain resilience.
  • Excellent analytical skills for data-driven decision making.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration across multiple functions
  • Influence management skills to drive the implementation of improvement of procurement processes
  • Fluent in English, French is an asset.
