DEPARTMENT LEADER, MANUFACTURING, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGIES (MSAT)

 

 

AliveDx is seeking a Department Leader, Manufacturing, Science And Technologies (MSAT) to join our Manufacturing Operations Function based in Eysins, Switzerland. This is a full-time and permanent position.

 

 

YOUR MISSION

 

As the Department Leader, Manufacturing, Science and Technology (MSAT), you will be a key member of the Operations Leadership Team, responsible for developing, deploying and upgrading automation, manufacturing capacity and processes. This role supports the current demands and future growth of our global customer base, enabling AliveDx to deliver on its strategic plan.  You will manage, support and develop a high-functioning MSAT Team, currently consisting of 11 members, including 3 Team Leaders.

 

As part of this team, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Manufacturing Process Development and Capacity Planning

Lead the development and implementation of advanced manufacturing processes that support AliveDx’s new product development. Ensure processes are scalable, safe, cost-effective, and designed for high-volume manufacturing (DFM). Oversee production capacity planning for the next 3-5 years, ensuring flexibility (“surge capacity”) to accommodate future growth while maintaining efficiency and reliability.

 

  • Process Innovation & Automation

Design, develop, test, and implement new manufacturing systems and automation solutions, particularly for cleanroom industrial production environments. Drive innovations in automation and ensure systems are aligned with the needs of high-volume manufacturing needs. Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and improve manufacturing performance.

 

  • Process Improvement and Non-Conformance Management

Lead efforts to continuously improve manufacturing processes with a focus on efficiency, safety, and quality. Promote root cause analysis for non-conformances and customer complaints, using statistical and data-driven approaches to enhance product and process reliability. Champion the use of continuous improvement methodologies across the MSAT team.

 

  • Equipment and Process Management

Supervise activities related to equipment design, process management, maintenance, and calibration. Ensure equipment and processes are optimized for long-term performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness, supporting sustainable manufacturing excellence.

 

  • Supplier and External Partner Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with engineering service suppliers to meet evolving business needs. Ensure that suppliers provide high-quality, long-term support and align with AliveDx’s strategic goals. Drive improvements in supplier relationship management to ensure continuous service excellence.

 

  • Team Leadership

Set clear goals and objectives for the MSAT team, aligned with AliveDx’s strategic vision and customer expectations. Empower the team through coaching, clear communication, and fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability. Promote continuous skills development and teamwork to elevate the team’s capabilities.

 

  • Compliance and Operational Management

Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and Safety guidelines across all MSAT activities. Manage operational expenses, capital investments, and payroll costs, ensuring budget alignment and financial sustainability.

 

 

YOUR COMPETENCIES

 

  • Master’s degree in sciences, Technology or Engineering
  • Over 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations and operations engineering in the medical device or pharmaceutical industries. Experience in in-vitro Diagnostics (IVD) is a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing teams and navigating complex problem-solving challenges in a data-driven environment.
  • Expertise in Bioprocess optimization and automated manufacturing processes
  • Proven experience collaborating with R&D and New Product Introduction (NPI) teams to introduce new products
  • Strong program management skills and proficiency in project Management tools and methodologies
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and matrix organizations.
  • Agile mindset with the ability to manage multiple complex projects and adapt to changing priorities
  • Fluent in English and French.
